Maintenance.

Keep your mat performing at its best over time. This guide covers recommended cleaning methods and routine care practices to help maintain appearance, extend product life, and ensure safe, reliable performance in demanding environments.

Clean, well-maintained mats not only extend longevity, but also protect surrounding flooring, reduce maintenance costs, and create a strong first impression.

Daily Maintenance

Daily care is your first line of defense against dirt, moisture, and wear.

Vacuum Daily
Use a commercial-grade vacuum with dual motors and an aggressive agitator brush to remove embedded dirt and debris. For best results, choose equipment certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute Green Label Program.
If mats become saturated from rain or snow, use a wet/dry vacuum and fans to remove moisture quickly.

Spot Clean as Needed
Address spills immediately using the appropriate cleaner. Solution-dyed fibers allow for more aggressive cleaning without damaging color or material.

Inspect Regularly
Include matting in daily cleaning inspections to identify buildup, wear, or positioning issues early.

Weekly Maintenance

Weekly maintenance removes deeper buildup and helps extend product life.

Deep Cleaning (Extraction)
Use an industrial extractor with hot water (up to ~220°F) and a neutralizing rinse—or hot water with white vinegar. Avoid detergents, as they can leave residue that attracts dirt.

Continue extraction until water runs clear. Wipe mat edges clean and allow the mat to fully dry using fans.

Reposition the Mat
Over time, mats may shift or wear unevenly.

  • Lift edges carefully to release grip.
  • Use airflow (wave motion) to reposition.
  • Walk from the center outward to reset the backing.

Repositioning helps maintain even wear and consistent performance.

Clean Beneath the Mat
Remove dirt and debris from beneath the mat to prevent abrasion and maintain grip. Clean several feet beyond the edges for best results.

Monthly/As Needed

Periodic deep cleaning helps restore performance in high-traffic or heavily impacted areas.

Restorative Cleaning
Identify problem areas and use targeted cleaning methods based on the type of debris or staining. Deep cleaning restores both appearance and function.

Professional Cleaning
For heavily soiled mats, consider a professional restoration contractor. Truck-mounted systems provide higher heat and more aggressive extraction for optimal results.
